Guided by Visionaries 2010

This vision could not have taken flight without the invaluable guidance and support of remarkable individuals. Late Mr. Ajit Koujalgi, a Senior Architect of INTACH Pondicherry, played a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of Doorways Pondicherry. Mr. Ashok Banda, Co-Convener at INTACH, and Arul, a Senior Architect at INTACH, were instrumental in helping us launch this platform.

A Landmark Moment 2010

In 2010, with the generous support of Mr. Mathew Samuel, the former Director of Pondicherry Tourism, we organized “Doors of Pondicherry,” a captivating photo exhibition hosted at Shanti Travel, 13 Roman Rolland Street. The inauguration of this exhibition was graced by Thiru. N. Rangasamy, the then Chief Minister of Puducherry. It was during this event that “DoorwaysPondy.com” website came into existence.

Adding a Personal Touch 2011

In 2011, we embarked on a mission to enhance the tourist experience in Pondicherry. “Doorways Rickshaw Ride” was born, an initiative dedicated to training and equipping affiliated rickshaw drivers with professionalism and ethics to offer tourists an unforgettable journey through the city.

Mapping Memories 2012

The year 2012 marked another milestone as we designed a comprehensive tourist city map. This map not only featured the city’s major attractions but also provided travellers with essential information for their journeys. It was freely distributed at key locations throughout the city.

Capturing Beauty: A Picture-Perfect Vision. Since 2011, we have embarked on a photographic journey through Pondicherry’s charming streets. The result? An adorable picture book that captures the city’s essence. The tourists visiting the city adorned the captivating images captured by us, and they accessed them through our Facebook pages, allowing them to glimpse the beauty and charm of Pondicherry through our lens.
